Bobby had a post from a few days ago that talked about the white kid who wanted to be African American Student of the Year at his high school. This, of course, “offended” people and it got the kids responsible for his promotion suspended. One important point, which I read elsewhere, that Bobby AND FoxNews didn’t mention was that this white kid is South African. He is an African American. But, you see, in America when people say “African American” they don’t mean that. They mean “black.”

But we’re not allowed to say “black.” It’s not PC. Fuck that. Am I a white guy? Yep. When was the last time you heard one of these PC-Mongers refer to a European-American? I mean, look at how fucking big Africa is. It’s huge. Wanna know what else? There are lots of different “colors” of people there. South Africa has lots of white folk who have been there for generations. Egypt is in Africa. When was the last time you saw an Egyptian and thought “Hmm… African American.” You don’t. Because “African American” is a euphemism for “Black.” Not that these colors, in my opinion, need them.

Euphemisms are for terms and phrases that are hurtful, derogatory or otherwise objectionable. There shouldn’t be anything hurtful about “black” and “white.”

&#091As an aside, Bobby’s post stirred up quite an Affirmative Action debate in his comments — complete with some arrogant white girl getting up on her high horse to “defend” minorities. Leave it to good ol’ racist Pete to stir the pot a little bit.&#093

  1. I’ve always thought that the use of a euphemism is the offensive thing, in and of itself. African-American, as you point out, is just a discreet way of saying “black”.

I’m not sure why it matters so greatly to people, but it does, so there you go.

  2. Um, I don’t understand your logic here, if you have any which I don’t think you do.
You state (whine and moan looks like) here on your entry that this “arrogant white girl gets up on her high horse to defend minorities”….all the while saying this, your entire website here is YOU standing on YOUR soap box, preaching and pounding your opinion on people. So you’re the arrogant hypocrite…that is what I learned from reading your entries. And you thrive from trying at the most extreme levels to berate people’s opinions with your own, even if it means breaking into hypocrisy. Take a look: that rich white girl just had an opinion, she said what her expertise is, gave an honest opinion based from her expertise, period. So ridiculing her and falsely labeling her is actually putting yourself in the wrong, and making you look childish and immature to the rest of the world.
Sorry dude, just stating the obvious from the material I see.
And for a future note: If you ever work for a company, don’t make a website dedicated to rebelling against that company or authoritative figures of that company…it’s not a mere excommunicating from CKI you’ll get, you get fired from your job and possible career ruin….just to keep in mind.

  3. Don’t make a website bashing a company you work for… wow… that’s not common sense or anything!

  4. Someone has no idea that CKI is a volunteer organization…Pete isn’t that dumb to make a website bashing is boss or employer

  5. The management regrets to announce that we have releived Pete Holiday from his responsibilities at http://pete.holidian.com. A replacement will be hired as soon as possible.

  6. Hey maybe those two hot guys that took over UCKI could do it. LOL

  7. lol… damn. Fired from my own website.

    :(

  8. I’ve never actually met a law student who uses the word “dude” with the frequency of Mr. MVM…oh that’s right because all the law students I have ever met know more words than dude to address someone. They also know how to form logical arguments, and would actually back them up with their real name!

  9. The management is pleased to announce that we have hired Mr. MVM for the position at the website.

  10. Doh!

  11. A guest preacher at the church I attend described the student body of the seminary where she teaches as “40% African-American and 60% European-American” during her sermon on Sunday.

Personally, I was highly offended at her assertion that I might be of European Union descent. I prefer the more specifically American term “honky.”

  12. Personally I prefer “cracker”.

  13. although I disagree with most of this guy’s opinions this one I strongly agree with. This exactly what all white people should realize - black people aren’t “African-American” some black people who are referred to as african-americans are just americans who happen to be black face it. The white south african kid IS african-american - he’s an african kid living in america whether he is black or not is besides the point. I hate how Africa is just looked at as one - it’s an entire continent not one country. like people who come up to me and say “hey do you speak african” no I don’t I speak Amharic…not african.
pete you’re right on the money with this opinion.
